About Ms. Santafe

Ms. Santafé was born and raised in Madrid, Spain. She is the proud mother of two children aged 12 and 10, who are currently studying at ALA. The Santafé’s family shares a love for travelling and getting to really know other cultures as a unique way to make sense of the world.

Ms. Santafé graduated from University of Alcalá de Henares in Madrid, with a BA in Elementary Education and a BA in English Studies. She started her teaching career as a High School Spanish teacher both in England and the US. Before having children, Ms. Santafé spent almost eight years immersed in the British and the US cultures. During that time, Ms. Santafé went back to college to get an MA in Spanish and European Literary Studies from University of Kent in England. That time of her life was highly rewarding, and this is why she is now providing her two children with a similar international life experience, here in Utah!

In Spain, Ms. Santafé taught English and Science in the Bilingual Education Program for public elementary schools in Madrid. Ms. Santafé has well over 20 years of experience as a teacher. She has an optimistic, structured, creative and hands-on approach to education, supported by efficient classroom management. She believes in high expectations and working together to help students reach their potential.

She loves music, psychology, all arts, nature, cooking and friendship. “I love teaching as much as I love learning. I am happy when I feel that I am making a difference in the life of others and when I feel I am making the most out of my life too. I believe love and education are powerful ways to change the world for the best!”
