About Mrs. Cheney

This year will mark my 11th year teaching here at ALA. I have taught Special Education for a total of seventeen years and home schooled my own children for eight years. In addition to working here at ALA, I was a teacher in Nevada, Arizona and in the Granite District here in Utah.  I graduated from Southern Utah University with a double major in Elementary Education and Special Education. I also earned my masters degree in Educational Leadership through Western Governors University.

I have moved around quite a bit throughout my life. I was born in Berlin Germany, while my father was in the military and since then have lived in California, Saudi Arabia, Arkansas, Kentucky, Georgia, Nevada and Illinois, New Mexico, Iowa, and Arizona. However, I have now lived here in Spanish Fork longer than anywhere else.  Utah has become our new home.

I love working here at ALA.  Each of my own four children have attended school here and have enjoyed the fine arts and choir programs. I love working with my Special Education students and watching them reach their full potential. My students brighten my days and keep me smiling.
