About Mr. Torres
My name is Erik Torres, I was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, but have been living in Utah for more than twelve years. I graduated from Utah Valley University with a bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish teaching. After graduating, I worked for the Murray School District for about five years teaching multiple grades. I love teaching, and have gained experience as a K-12 Spanish Dual Language immersion teacher throughout my teaching career.
I have earned a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Policy from the University of Utah, which strengthened my leadership skills inside and outside of the classroom. I have experience creating interactive lesson plans adapted to the needs of individual students and recognizing their strengths as student leaders by guiding them to immerse in different subjects taught in class. These subjects include mathematics, science, social studies and Spanish language arts.
I believe it is important to create equitable learning environments in the classroom for all students to succeed in and outside of the classroom. I look forward to working closely with you as a partner in your child’s education this year. Open communication is hugely important to us as a dual immersion team, and we will reach out to you often about student growth and struggles. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns, and we will do our best to respond promptly.
We look forward to working closely with you as partners in your child’s education this year.
