IMPORTANT COVID INFO. FROM DIRECTOR MORLEY
I am writing to inform you that due the the high number of COVID cases in the state of Utah and the risk that posses to schools being shut down, we are going to be doing something a little different this year following the Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks.
Due to the amount of travel associated with the holidays we will start school online for one week following each holiday break. School will be online from November 30- December 3, 2020 and will resume face-to-face teaching on December 7, 2020. Following the Christmas and New Years holiday we will begin school as scheduled on January 4, 2021, online and then resume face-to-face instruction on January 11, 2021. These online teaching breaks are designed to be buffer period between holiday travel and gatherings, and face-to-face instruction.
THIS IS NOT A BREAK FROM SCHOOL OR LEARNING AND STUDENTS WILL BE EXPECTED TO PARTICIPATE ONLINE. It will be important to make sure students are symptom free and have not been exposed before sending them to school. Please be watching for information from your child’s teacher on specific for these online education weeks.
We are in our traditional flu season and so we anticipate the counts to be higher than they have been. Please be cautious. As always this plan could be modified based on circumstances or health orders. We have appreciated everyone’s cooperation.
