About Mr. Lovett

I have been teaching special education in middle school for several years in Utah, and I am a native of Southern California. My Master's degree is in special education with a mild/moderate endorsement. This is my first year at ALA and I am thrilled to be part of such a dynamic and friendly team!

I love to connect with my students in ways both large and small. Building deep and abiding relationships with them is the favorite part of my job. It is only after these connections have been made that a true love of learning can be instilled into each student. It is my sincerest belief that once a student can experience the intrinsic love of learning, they mature and grow into wonderful, capable, and responsible young adults. I strive every day to serve, respect, and listen to each student that I teach in every interaction I have with them.

Currently I live in Provo near my two adult sons who are the absolute loves of my life, and I have my first grandchild on the way (it's a girl!).

My personal hobbies include landscape and astrophotography, reading classic American literature, playing backgammon, listening to vintage 30's and 40's music, writing books and poetry, and generally looking for fun things to explore in my spare time.
