Medications at School

Medications at School

American Leadership Academy seeks the safe and appropriate administration of medication to students in the rare cases in which medication must be given during school hours. To see that medication is administered safely in these cases, procedures have been developed to determine that medication to be administered is appropriately recorded, labeled, and stored in a locked location and that parents provide appropriate information and documentation regarding medication.   Below you will find the school's policy regarding having medication at school and a form that you will need to fill out.

Once you have filled out the form AND it has been signed by a healthcare provider, contact the school nurse to schedule a meeting to review the form, the school policy and to drop off the medication(s).  A printed copy of this form is also available from the school nurse or at the Junior High and Elementary front desk.
