About Mrs. Brown

I love being a part of American Leadership Academy! I have been teaching here from the very beginning day the doors opened! I have enjoyed several types of advising/leadership with groups such as: JH Student Government, JH Yearbook, FCCLA and the CTE Department. I have also taught at Logan High and Box Elder High.

I have had a place I called home in several cities that span from St. George to Logan. I have also had adventures living in Missouri, Mississippi, Vermont and Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Dixie State was my first college I attended and I had such a great time being involved with student government, student life and academics. Then I graduated to Utah State for a BS and Master’s degree.  I continue to take courses from USU, UVU, BYU, and SUU! I love learning.

I like to spend time reading and searching out answers to the driving and/or curious questions I have, whether it be connected to what I am teaching or connected to other parts of my life. I enjoy reading magazines such as Bloomberg Businessweek, Time, and The Week among others. I enjoy reading books for young adults like Wonder. And I like watching comedies!

I enjoy designing things that I can use. My biggest project was taking a residential design class from BYU, where I learned AutoCAD and personally designed all the plans to build my home. I was my own general contractor and worked with my father to build my home. After several years I can still say “I really like my functional design! I also took lighting design and landscaping classes at BYU, which gave me extended skills to be creative in those realms as I worked with creating my home area.

My favorite thing to do is to sit down with my family and talk and visit and visit and talk about every topic we can think of that seems relevant to what is going on in our lives at that moment in time. I love it!
