About Mrs. Hatch
I have been married to my husband, David for 39 years and we have 5 children. Our youngest son Spencer is a Senior in high school. My other children are all married making me a Grandma to 9 beautiful grandchildren ranging in age from 10 years old to 2 months old. Two of the things I love most is being a grandma and a teacher. I went back to BYU when my youngest son was 3 and got a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education. I then began my career of teaching as a 1st grade teacher here at ALA 13 years ago (when it opened) and I’ve been teaching 1st grade here ever since.
I love teaching first grade because I believe that it is very important to not only become a good reader but to develop a love of reading and get a good foundation for future years. I also love teaching first graders how to get along with others and develop confidence in themselves. My motto in my classroom is “Be the Best You Can Be”.
My other interests include camping, reading, and singing in my ward choir. I love American Leadership Academy and the children that I have had the chance to work with over the years as well as now and look forward to helping build a bright future for more students at ALA.
