About Mrs. Lambson
I’m Edel Lambson, and I am now in my eighth year at ALA. I am originally from San Marcos, a beautiful little city in a mountain valley in Guatemala, but I have lived here in Utah County every since I came to the United States to study at BYU, where I graduated with Bachelors and Masters Degrees. I have taught Spanish at BYU, UVU, and at elementary schools and middle schools. This is my ninth year teaching Spanish dual immersion.
I am married to my husband, Alan Lambson, who is the owner of a translation service company, and I also have experience as a Spanish translator and editor. We have four grown-up children and nine wonderful grandchildren.
I live in Orem, where I enjoy my beautiful view of Mt. Timpanogos every day, and where I love to garden, take care of my vegetable garden, watch the hummingbirds all summer, and take care of my little dog, whose name is Spot.
My favorite thing to do is to help people learn my native language, Spanish, and to understand the culture of people from Spanish-speaking countries. I love to travel, and my husband and I have been able to visit Mexico, Guatemala, Argentina, Spain, and Ireland (no, they don’t speak Spanish in Ireland). I especially love to help younger children learn to speak and understand a new language and to help them build confidence in their ability to do other things as well, such as math and science in Spanish.
The slogan of my classroom is “we can do hard things”. And have some fun while we are doing them!
