About Ms. Santafe
Hello everyone! My name is Ms. Julieta Santafé and I would like to welcome all of you to fifth grade Dual Language Immersion. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your children soon. I am sure we are going to enjoy a wonderful academic year together!
This will be my 3rd year teaching the Spanish Curriculum of Dual Immersion and would like to tell you a little about me. I was born and raised in Madrid, Spain. I am the proud mother of two children aged 11 and 9 who study at ALA too
I graduated from University of Alcalá de Henares in Madrid with a BA in Elementary Education. After that, I earned a BA in English Studies and I started my teaching experience teaching Spanish as a foreign language in England and the US. I have always had a keen interest and willingness to experience the Anglophone cultures. Overall, I have lived for 10 years total in the British and the US cultures. Throughout those years, I undertook different roles as a teaching professional at Elementary, High School and University levels. Getting to know and live in a different culture from mine is highly rewarding and I keep dear memories and strong friendships from these life experiences. My last 2 years in England I went back to University and earned an MA in Spanish and European Literary Studies from University of Kent in England.
In regards to my professional background, for the last fifteen years that I lived in Madrid, I taught English as a foreign language and several other subjects in the Bilingual Education Program for public elementary schools in Madrid. Those years gave me valuable knowledge and experience to offer a lot to your Dual Language Immersion Program here in Utah.
I love to spend time with family and friends. I also love music, reading, travelling and Nature. I enjoy learning new things and helping others learn and find their strengths and motivation to get what they want, and to feel good about themselves. I love teaching as much as I love learning. I am happy when I feel that I am making a difference in the life of others and when I feel I am making the most out of my life too.
I have an optimistic, creative, versatile and hands-on approach to education supported by efficient classroom management. I believe in high expectations for all of us involved in the teaching community, and working together to help our students reach their potential. I care about my students and try to motivate them to become responsible for their learning too.
I believe love and education are powerful ways to change the world for the best and I am proud to be a teacher!
