Parent Information For Dual Immersion

Dear ALA Parents/Guardians,

Being in the ALA Elementary Dual Immersion program is a privilege and an amazing educational opportunity for your child to be challenged and ultimately bilingual in reading, writing, and speaking.  This program requires commitment, active involvement, dedication on your part as parents.  Here are some of the basic requirements:

-Upon confirmation of acceptance, parents must attend a mandatory new student/parent Dual Immersion orientation meeting.  It is imperative that you attend this meeting.  If you are not able to attend this meeting please inform our elementary secretary, Hellen Jackson @ hjackson@americanleadership.net.

-Attend both parent teacher conferences during the school year.

-Commit to providing your 40 hours of parental service/volunteer time throughout the school year.  (Money can be given in lieu of service at $7.50 per hour. You can pay this at the Junior High front desk.)

-Commit to consistently working with your child on their homework each night.

-Students must be punctual and consistently attend school.  If your child falls below the 90% attendance rate, then he or she will be moved into a regular classroom the following school year.

-Student's must adhere to the school rules and behave appropriately.

These requirements will be reviewed at the end of each term. if it is determined by the teachers and administration that your student is frequently out of compliance with the Dual Immersion requirements, we will need to move your student to a regular class.
