What is PAEMST?
PAEMST stands for Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
PAEMST is the highest recognition that a Kindergarten through Grade 12 educator may receive for outstanding science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science instruction in the United States.
This year’s PAEMST Award cycle is designated for K-6 grade teachers.
What does a PAEMST Awardee receive?
A certificate signed by the President of the United States.
A $10,000 award from NSF (used at Awardee’s discretion).
A trip to Washington, D.C., for a recognition event which may include: an award ceremony;
professional development activities; and discussions with policy-makers on how to improve STEM education.
The opportunity to join a cohort of excellent STEM teachers for future collaboration.
Who may nominate a teacher for PAEMST?
ANYONE may nominate a teacher (e.g., colleagues, former awardees, principals, students, superintendents, family members, friends, parents, or yourself).
