How to Apply

Westminster takes a holistic approach to applications. Westminster wants to know the whole you, not just a GPA or test score. So, they’ve kept it simple: all they need is an application, an official high school transcript, and either test scores or an essay.

We are a test-optional school, which means we will give equal weight to a test score or an essay. Westminster College accepts both the Common App and the Westminster admissions application—you can apply using the option that is most convenient. Each step of the way, an admissions counselor is available to answer any questions you might have.

Important Dates

    • August 1: Common Application Opens
    • October 1: FAFSA Form Opens
    • December 1: Early Action Deadline*
    • February 1: Regular Decision Deadline

*After Feb. 1, application and financial aid decisions are made on a rolling basis. If you complete your application before Dec. 1, you can expect to hear back from the Office of Admissions by the first week of Jan. 2023. Applications completed after Feb. 1 can expect a decision within three weeks.

All undergraduate first-year and transfer students who apply to Westminster College are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships and awards.

The college invests—through scholarship awards—in students who carry an excellent high school GPA; score well on the ACT or SAT; and who are hardworking, determined, open-minded, caring, and ambitious.

Annual amounts for these awards vary. These awards are renewable for students who maintain good academic standing and satisfactory academic progress. The highest-level award for which a student qualifies will supersede all previous offers.
