About the Role: The Vice Principal at ALA is a guardian of our school’s culture and a driver of academic exceptionalism. Because ALA is a School of Choice, the Vice Principal must be an ambassador for our unique mission. You will partner with the Principal to lead a community united by a vision of moral and wholesome education, ensuring that our unique value proposition is visible in every classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Enrollment & Mission Fidelity: Champion the “School of Choice” model. Actively work to build enrollment by enforcing and communicating our unique vision, values, and mission to current and prospective families.
- Academic Growth: Champion a culture of high expectations by driving significant gains in student proficiency. Leverage diagnostic tools to turn data into action, ensuring our students are performing at the highest levels of academic excellence.
- The Relationship Hierarchy: Masterfully navigate our priority structure: Parent > Student > Teacher. We recognize parents as our primary partners and treat students as valued treasures.
- Teacher Mentorship: Provide high-level leadership to faculty, inspiring them to reach high, attainable goals. Conduct evaluations based on proficiency, growth, and “Culture Contributions.”
- Moral Leadership: Model the RISE UP values (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, Unity, Patriotism) in every interaction. Maintain a wholesome environment that reflects the best of American civic virtue.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Master’s Degree in Education or an equivalent advanced degree is required.
- Experience: Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, with a track record of improving academic outcomes.
- Wisdom & Temperament: Demonstrated ability to make wise decisions while remaining steady and solution-oriented in high-pressure situations.
- Leadership Presence: A history of competency and wisdom that inspires others to follow you into ambitious academic goals.
- Data Literacy: Ability to translate complex testing data into actionable, effective classroom strategies for teachers.
