About the Dual Immersion Program ALA is proud to offer a Spanish Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program. Our goal is to foster bilingualism, biliteracy, and cross-cultural competence. In this role, you will be the Spanish-speaking partner in a 50/50 model, where students spend half their day learning in English and the other half immersed in Spanish. The Role We are seeking a fluent Spanish speaker who is passionate about early childhood development and language acquisition. As a Kindergarten DLI Teacher, you will be the first point of entry for many students into the world of second-language learning. You will teach core subjects—including Spanish Language Arts, Math, and Culture—entirely in Spanish, using specialized instructional strategies to ensure students remain engaged and supported.

Job Description:

Location: Spanish Fork, UT

Key Responsibilities

  • Target Language Immersion: Provide 100% of instruction in Spanish using gestures, visuals, and modeling to facilitate comprehension. Early Literacy: Teach foundational Spanish literacy skills (phonics, decoding, and fluency) to young learners. Partner Collaboration: Work in close tandem with your English-speaking partner teacher to coordinate lesson plans, bridge concepts, and monitor student behavior. Cultural Enrichment: Integrate Hispanic culture, traditions, and music into the curriculum to broaden students’ global perspectives. Classroom Management: Maintain a high-energy, structured Kindergarten environment that emphasizes the “RISE UP” values (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, Unity, Patriotism). Family Engagement: Help bridge the gap for non-Spanish-speaking parents by providing resources to support their child’s language journey at home.

  • Daily Workflow In this 50/50 model, your day will typically look like this: Morning Block: You teach Math and Science in Spanish to Group A, while your partner teaches Literacy in English to Group B. Mid-Day: Students switch classrooms. Afternoon Block: You repeat your Math and Science lessons in Spanish for Group B, while your partner teaches Literacy to Group A. Why Join the ALA DLI Team?
