Students will learn techniques of research, persuasion, organization, refutation, and group processes. Content will include important issues facing the world, our nation, and ourselves. Students learn and develop a variety of speaking skills, techniques, and strategies. Students learn refutation as they study many important issues facing the world, our nation, and ourselves. Types of public speaking and debate learned include: Impromptu Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking, Oratory, Oral Interpretation, Spontaneous Argumentation (Spar), Student Congress, Policy and Lincoln/Douglas Debate. Elective Class.
