Students will study the functions of atoms and molecules in the chemistry of cells, the structure and function of cells, and how cells function as a system. They will analyze how genetic information is passed from one cell to another, and the significance
and impact of genetic alteration on living organisms. They will explore biological diversity, analyze characteristics of ecosystems and the interdependence of organisms with each other and with their environment. Hands-on, student-centered activities allow students to explore the relevance of biology in their lives.
