About Mrs. Olson

I went back to school when I was 34 years old. I graduated in 2019 with my Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science, a concentration in Family Studies, and a minor in Autism.

I joined ALA in April of 2019 and continued that next year on the Behavior Team. In 2020 I went back to school again to get my Master's Degree in Special Education. I will graduate this October, and I am so excited. I was also hired in 2020 to be the Special Education teacher for the self-contained room in the Elementary School. It is by far my favorite job I have ever had in my life. This will be my 2nd year as a teacher, and I love working with exceptional students here at ALA. I have known I was going to be a teacher since I was 7 years old, and that passion and excitement has not gone away. I know I am supposed to be exactly where I am.

I have a blended family and we have 7 children total (my three and my husband's four). We have four dogs, three cats, and a hedgehog. I love to go camping, hiking, and pretty much anything outdoors when it's warm out. I play the guitar, love to sing, and enjoy listening to music and audiobooks. A motto I live by every day is, "Leave things better than you found it." This applies in small situations or big, important ones. I also truly believe that we should all leave PEOPLE better than when we found them. Lend a hand, smile, serve others, do good, and believe that you have the power to influence others for good.
