COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS

College & Career Readiness Program

ALA is invested in ensuring our students graduate ‘College and Career Ready.'  Every year secondary students will be provided an opportunity to create and update their own personal ‘Plan for College and Career Readiness” PCCR.

Plans will include a 4-6 year course planning guide to graduation, information regarding early college opportunities such as concurrent enrollment, UVU live interactive courses, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, Mountainland Applied Technical College, etc. Students will set goals for college and career options based on individual student interest and skills, and learn about available scholarships and financial aid to help pay for college. As part of the annual college and career ready process, counselors will also deliver career exploration/ development lessons to students in their classrooms.

Electronic Plan for College & Career Readiness

Beginning in 8th grade, all students will have access to an electronic Plan for College and Career Readiness. PCCR Documents are available via Google sheets and will be shared to all students using their individual ALA email address. Plan is also available to parents who possess a Google account. This allows for students and parents to have easy access to their plan, as well as a smooth transition as they advance grade levels and are assigned a new counselor.
