Speech & Debate IIA & IIB

(Competition class) (Students should sign-up for A & B if they intend to stay the entire year.)
Students will learn techniques of research, persuasion, organization, refutation, and group processes. Content will include important issues facing the world, our nation, and ourselves. Students learn and develop a variety of speaking skills, techniques, and strategies. Students learn refutation as they study many important issues facing the world, our nation, and ourselves. Class will compete in speech and debate tournaments throughout the state and can compete nationally. Events include: Impromptu Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking, Oratory, Oral Interpretation, Spontaneous Argumentation (Spar), Student Congress, Policy and Lincoln/Douglas Debate. Elective Class. Fee Required.
